Couch to 5k.

I started couch to 5k again.
I think this will make start number three.
I know, I know. You have started this three times
Yes, I have. But let's back up a little.

The first time I started was about a year before getting pregnant with Miss O. I remember seeing a friend of Facebook talk about her upcoming 5k and thought what in the world is that. I had no clue people actually paid money to run a race. I did some more googling and found out a 5k was NOT 5 miles, in fact it is 3.1 miles and thought that doesn't seem to hard.
I did some more research to learn their were quite a few races about an hour from where I live. The Kansas City area. Most races are Saturday mornings. I decided to give it a try.
I remember asking my friend how she got ready to run 3.1 miles. Turns out there was a program called Coach to 5k
I completed this program. I was a slow runner but I was also proud of myself. This was all back in 2012, right before finding out we were having Miss O. I ran 11 races that year. It was SO much FUN!

We found out we were having Miss O in early November. She was due in July. Around September 2013 I decided to give the program a try again. I missed running. And after all I did ask for a big, fancy jogging stroller. Running with a stroller was tough. I remember thinking it would be easy. Some days I ran pushing O and some days I ran alone. I only ran 4 races that year. I think mostly because I didn't start running till September and I hate running in the winter months.

I did keep up with my running though. I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill a lot. Running was a great place for me to forget about everything.
2014 came and I started racing again. And I loved every single moment of it.
I ran 6 races before finding out we were expecting Miss S.

After having Syd I never really got back into it. I mean life with two kids was crazy.
But 2016 is my year. I started Couch to 5k last week and I am loving it. I've already looked at a few races to sign up for this year. One being in Chicago when the hubs and I take a trip just the two of us.
He even said he wants to sign up and walk a few. He has two bad knees so running is out for him. I'm just excited he wanted to at least walk with me.

My first race is March 26. Its a Easter theme. I'm pretty excited.
The program I'm doing is 8 weeks long so I have plenty of time to get ready for the race.
I have two goals for this year.
1. Run an entire 5k race without walking.
2. Complete 13.1 miles. Running/walking/crawling. Just complete one!

Have you ever ran a 5k?
What's your favorite race to run?
