What an amazing weekend it was! I celebrated my first Mother's day and it was amazing.
It was a very busy and fast weekend but it was a perfect one.
(Spending Mother's Day at the farm)
Friday started out with my mom, aunt, Miss O and I heading to Kansas City to stay with my cousin for our race on Saturday. Friday night we grilled out and chatted.
Miss O stayed the night with my great aunt.
Saturday morning we woke up early, had breakfast and then headed off to the race.
The Chiefs 5k.
Yes, as in the Kansas City Chiefs.
This is their third year putting together this race to help raise money for their charity's.
It was one of the coolest races I've ever done.
The finish line was the best part.
(5th race of the year)
We started off in the parking lot then ran around the whole Arrowhead parking lot and ending at the 50 yard line on the field! We ran down the tunnel where the players run down every home game.
It was pretty neat!
The course was pretty easy to me. Not to hilly.
We started so close to the end that I thought I was flying passing people left and right. It was a great race for me.
I ran my fasted mile and PR'd by 7 minutes. I was in heaven looking at my watch after the race seeing that I just crushed this race and really pushed to beat my PR.
The only thing I was a little disappointed about was there were some football players at the waters station signing autographs and I just blew through the line and didn't realize who they were til I was past them.
This race was a great race and one I will totally do next year. I think I even have the hubs talked into doing this one next year!
