I'm Following the Trend

So this losing weight thing sucks. 
I mean trying to lose this baby weight plus more sucks monkey butts! 
Before getting pregnant it was becoming some what easy to lose weight. I knew what I should be eating and working out was becoming easier. Then I quit losing weight for like 3 months. I was just stuck then I found out I was pregnant. 
So now that its time for me to lose this baby weight that I put on plus more I starting looking at pinterest for ideas. I knew I wanted to stick with the natural way. I didn't want to try some diet pill or anything like that. I knew this would be by eating healthy and working out. 

Looking at pinterest and reading some of my favorite blogs I seemed to notice this new trend on losing weight and eating clean. The Paleo Diet. 

I did a ton of researched it for like 2 weeks before I decided I would give it a try. 
I think almost everyone has heard the word paleo diet and I had heard about it here and there but I really had no idea what it meant. 
Basically, I eat a ton of fruits, veggies and meat. No high carbs. You know the bad for you carbs. Which is what I need because I love me some pasta and bread. I like it a little to much. 
I found some great blogs for recipes and I decided I would give it a try. 

This was my breakfast. I like my bacon really crispy. Tomorrow I'm trying a sweet potato & sausage hash. I'll let you know what I think. 

I've only been doing it a few days but I can tell I have more energy now. Its kind of crazy how much more energy I have. I didn't think it was possible with just losing the bad carbs I love eating. 
I started meal planning and prepping for the week so I wouldn't screw anything up. 

This is my first full week and my grocery bill wasn't anymore expensive that it was before. I shop at Wal-Mart because that's the only store I have in my tiny town so I priced matched a lot of meat and veggies which helped keep my bill down. I was really scared my bill would go up like $40 bucks but it only went up like $10 so I felt good about it. 

I will weight myself next Monday to see if I've lost any weight with it or not. I hoping I do well. The food taste amazing and I've found a ton of really good looking recipes so I know it will be easy to follow this one. 

And Miss O is now 2 months!!!

  1. I'm in the exact same boat, just 4 months out. I started eating Paleo last week. I lost 3 lbs! I'm hoping I keep loosing. It just makes sense! Good luck! I looked up those chicken strips yesterday and they sound good. I'm going to make them next week.

  3. She's 2 months old already?!? She is so dang adorable!!! And so tiny!!! My boys were her size when born! Ha ha! :)

    I have a friend who is doing Atkins, she lost 35lbs in 3 months time. I've heard that when you stop following it, tho, you gain most of the weight back. Have you read anything like that about Paleo? That's what worries me about these named food plans. I can't wait to see how this works for you, maybe after baby I'll try incorporating some of Paleo's philosophies into my diet. Also, are you breastfeeding while doing this? Thanks. :)
