So let’s be honest here… I’ve been wanting to try a green smoothie forever but the thought of putting spinach or any other kind of green into a delicious smoothie sounded pretty gross to me. I know I’ve heard a million people say you can’t taste it but it still freaked me out…
Well this past weekend I finally decided to try one since I’m doing the 7-day Green Smoothie Challenge with Katherine @ RealFood Runner Blog.
Well ladies and gents… You really can’t taste the spinach in this smoothie! I put some of my favorite berries in it along with some other great filling ingredients and you really have no idea the spinach was in there! I bet I could get away with serving one to my hubs without him ever knowing! (Hoping he doesn’t read this postJ).
Really this is a GREAT way to get in your extra greens and vitamins throughout the day. I really am a believer in the green smoothie now! I can’t wait to make a different flavor and share with you later this week.
I was in a hurry for breakfast today so that’s all I had time to eat (or should I say drink ha!) but it was filling and held me over until lunch! This recipe is so good! Kids and picky hubs will love it if you don’t mention the green part!
I know this smoothie is suppose to be green in color but with the blueberries in it, the color turns purple which is even better when trying to hide greens from kiddos! I know you’re going to love this recipe! Also don’t forget to join us in the 7-day challenge! This is day 2!!! Enjoy.
Total time: 10 minutes
§ 1 cup spinach
§ 1 cup frozen blueberries
§ 1 cup frozen strawberries
§ 1 cup almond milk
§ 1 tablespoon honey
§ ½ teaspoon chia seeds
1. Place all ingredients in blender.
2. Blend until smooth
NOTE: If using fresh berries add 1 cup of ice Also I added 1 teaspoon Truvia.
