Turkey -N- Noodles


So last week I wanted to make something quick and easy. Also I hadn’t been to the store for the week so we had barely any food so I threw together what I call Turkey and Noodles. It’s my version of beef and shells but since we eat mostly ground turkey (and since it was all I had on hand) that’s what I made. I have to say I was pretty impressed. It was really good and saucy. Also, I didn’t have any shells so I just used the rest of my egg noodles I had. Like I said I hadn’t been to the store yet. Anyways, hubs loved it and I know your guys will too. It was soo easy and pretty quick! Under 30 minutes!! I know there is lot of families looking for quick and simple meals! Plus it’s a one pot dish! Ok, it sort of is, the sauce and meat were made in one pan but of course the pasta had to be cooked. But I’m still going to consider this a one pot dish and less than 30 minutes meal. Enjoy!!

Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients
§  4 ounces uncooked egg noodles
§  1 pound ground turkey
§  1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomato
§  1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
§  ½ teaspoon oregano
§  ½ teaspoon parsley
§  ½ teaspoon basil
§  1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
§  ½ teaspoon pepper
§  Pinch of salt

Preparation
1.       Cook noodles according to package.
2.       Meanwhile, cook ground turkey until no longer pink. Add oregano, parsley, basil, red pepper flakes and pepper cook for about 5 minutes.
3.       Stir in tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil.
4.       Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
5.       Drain pasta then add to tomato mixture. Heat through about 3 minutes
