Triple Cheesy Lasagna


I’m telling you hubs and I are could be Italians!  I think we have a pasta dish once a week. I just love it! I mean meat, noodles and CHEESE! Come on I know you can’t get enough of this crap delicious food! Chris is a plain kind of guy, doesn’t like much of anything and I mean anything. So if I were making this lasagna for my parents I would add onions and ricotta cheese. Since Chris is really picky I left those items out! On another note, this lasagna is delish and easy to make! It does take a while to cook so if you don’t have a lot of time you could make it over the weekend and put in freezer until ready to eat. It’s lower in calories and who doesn’t love that! Average traditional lasagna is like 450-500 calories for each piece, this one is just 336! I know you’re going to love it! ENJOY!!

Servings: 6
Total time: 20 minutes prep, 60 minutes baking

Ingredients
§  1 pound ground turkey
§  3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
§  6 oz. can tomato paste
§  ½ teaspoon garlic
§  1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
§  ½ teaspoon parsley
§  ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
§  8 whole wheat lasagna noodles
§  ½ cup Parmesan cheese
§  1 ½ cups fat-free mozzarella cheese
§  6 slices provolone cheese


Preparation
1.       Cook noodles according to package. Preheat oven at 350.
2.       In a large skillet, brown ground turkey. Add Italian seasoning, garlic, parsley and red pepper to browned turkey. Cook another 5 minutes.
3.       Add tomato sauce and paste to turkey. Bring to a boil and cook 10 minutes.
4.       Lightly spray your cooking dish with cooking spray. Add thin layer of meat sauce on bottom of dish.
5.       Add 4 noodles, top with ½ meat sauce then add half cheese.
6.       Repeat with remaining noodles and rest of meat sauce. Add remaining cheese.
7.       Bake covered with foil for 55 minutes.
8.       Uncovers and let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
