Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate, soft, chewy and delicious! These are all things I look forward to in good cookies! When I started this journey I just knew I wouldn’t be having a gooey, warm and fantastic cookie for a long time! UNTIL… I figured out you can make them healthier. Don’t get me wrong just because I cooked 12 of them doesn’t mean I can have them all today because they are low-fat. This is something I’m still working on. Moderation is something we all need in order to lose weight and keep it off. With all this being said I’m excited to say I made them and had just ONE even though I wanted all of them. I’m so excited to share these with you. I know you’re going to get up from your seat go straight to the store, come home and bake them. They are this good!!   Enjoy and let me know what you think!!!

Servings: 12
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients
§  ½ cup sugar
§  ½ cup brown sugar
§  2 tablespoon butter, melted
§  ¼ cup egg white beaters (or 1 egg white)
§  2 tablespoons applesauce
§  1 teaspoon vanilla
§  ½ whole wheat flour
§  ½ cup all purpose flour
§  ¼ teaspoon baking soda
§  Pinch of salt
§  ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation
1.       Preheat oven to 350. Spray cookie sheet LIGHTLY with nonstick cooking spray.
2.       In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
3.       In a large bowl whisk together sugar, brown sugar, egg white, applesauce and vanilla.
4.       Whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Only mix half the dry at a time. If batter looks crumbly add a pinch of water until the batter is smooth.
5.       Fold in chocolate chips.
6.       Place spoonfuls of batter about 1 inch apart on cooking sheet.
7.       Bake 7-9 minutes. (I baked mine for 7 because my oven was pretty hot)
8.       Remove from oven and let me stand for 5 minutes. Then place them on wire rack to finish cooling.
