Italian-Style Chex Mix

I’ve got a great new healthy snack just in time for New Year’s! I love chex mix all the different kinds. I think the cheese one is my favorite but I also know those calories and sugar are out of this world high!!! So I’ve got a recipe that will blow your socks off good! Well at least I think so. Its Italian-style with a little heat and low in calories!!

Servings: 12
Total time: 15 minutes 

§  1 ½ cup Corn Chex
§  1 ½ cup Rice Chex
§  1 ½ cup Wheat Chex
§  ½ cup garlic bagel chips
§  ½ cup mini pretzels
§  3 tablespoons butter, melted
§  ½ teaspoon garlic salt
§  ½ teaspoon dried basil
§  ½ teaspoon dried oregano
§  ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
§  2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1.       In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the first five ingredients.
2.       In a different small microwave-safe bowl combine the melted butter, garlic salt, basil, oregano and pepper flakes. Mix together then pour of cereal mixture and toss to coat.
3.       Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 minutes, stirring once.
4.       Stir in cheese and cook for another 4 minutes stirring twice. Spread on wax paper to cool. Store in airtight container.
